WE DID IT AGAIN! Observing a world that is so downright scary. In many parts of our troubled world people are still roaming the streets of totalitarian countries yelling “revolution“, while citizens of the western world are fighting diversity in a weird case of backward evolution that unfolds their egocentric view of the world. Going back to governmental regression and obedience.
These days, the noise pollution has reached the point of being impossible to tolerate. Everywhere you look frontier law is celebrating a massive comeback, and the louder you shout your wannabe-two-cents from your favored platform, the sooner people tend to follow your scandalous line of would-be arguments. Vest-pocket demagogues, self-styled influencers, conspiracy nut-cases, the ever-increasing hordes of Internet-trolls - they all feed the tyranny of followers, and vice versa.
Lodown’s “Savages“ is taking on creation that couldn’t care less about the obscene popularity contests of now, looking at artists with a vision fueled by originality, subversion, talent and civil disobedience.
The ideas introduced in this issue aren’t getting tired of fighting the inducted consensus as the world is seemingly derailing thanks to an illiterate crowd and its cynical leaders. It’s Time to become self-aware once and for all! We need an elaborate paradigm shift - we don‘t know either what it could be, because it obviously doesn‘t exist yet.
Renaissance now! Spirit over rationilism, self-awareness over repression.
“Folks, it’s time to evolve. That’s why we’re troubled. You know why our institutions are failing us, the church, the state, everything’s failing? It’s because, um, they’re no longer relevant. (*because these institutions are usually run by a generation much closer to death than the very majority of the population) We’re supposed to keep evolving. Evolution did not end with us growing opposable thumbs. You do know that, right?” - Bill Hicks
