In a world where our society and its connected mass media give a strict vision of what is it to be a woman - usually hyper-sexualized with conventional gender identifiers - Jessica Yatrofsky chose to provide a more realistic female image of the 21th century in order to show that a woman prototype doesn’t exist.

The New York City based photographer will release a new book titled “I Heart Girl“ this spring - the equivalent to her former book “I Heart Boy“ - in which she’s ignoring the clichés and stereotypes published by the majority of women’s magazines. Yatrosky’s women are ordinary and exotic. Even if she presents only young women her narrative is an invitation to re-examine what we know about femininity. 

Release will be in May 2015 by PowerHouse Books.
