MONDAY MIXTAPE: ?

the mystery mix

Today’s mixtape is kinda special. Mixed by someone who’s not known as a DJ. But you definetly know this guy - there’s basically only one chance you haven’t: you’ve been living under a rock for the last 20 years - on a far away island. Actor par excellence, Hollywood icon, guy’s dream, girl’s wet one. Little is known about his private life as he’s keeping it concealed, camouflaged.

A good friend of Lodown met him once on on a movie set and inbetween takes they were having a chat about music and within minutes it was clear that they’re on the same path. They have been freinds since then. He’s a music afficionado, his record collection is bigger than his Hollywood neighbor’s garages, he’s having a soft spot for weird 60’s and 70’s soundtracks, Psychedelic Rock, Disco and he probably knows more about anything that’s moving Glasgow’s to Tel Aviv’s dancefloors than the average european club hopper. He has been spotted going record shopping with Harvey, hanging out with Lemmy, rumors are he had Rub’n’Tug, Baldelli and David Mancuso spinning on his wedding, while Hawkwind and The Black Angels were playing live for his illlustrous guests and friends. His knowledge is in high demand for companioned film producers. His caribbean holiday home has a fully equipped dancefloor opening up to the ocean where he’s throwing parties every now and then - him as the DJ.

When our friend told us the story, we were like „Ask him! Do it!“. You know what? He already knew about our mix series and a month later we got this mix - accompanied by these lines:
„Guys. I don’t know your magazine, but love your mixes. I hope you like that one. But do me the favor: don’t mention my name! For reasons. Keep up the good work! Much love x“

Honestly, we’re kinda baffled that we’re having a mix by him on our show, but here it is… our mystery mix by that one guy. A good dose of obscure, murky and psychedelic stuff, framed with a gunload of Rock at the beginning and the end. No more info, no playlist, we only identified some wrong speed Richard Wahnfried in there, a piece of Patrick Cowley’s gay porn soundtracks, some Dominik von Senger stuff and Brainticket at the end. We hope you enjoy it as much as we do.
