謝承霖 《低头人生》

bow life

After Jean Jullien, it’s now time for a Chinese animated clip called 謝承霖 《低头人生》- “bow life” - to tell us something about smartphone addiction. It is definitely not the first of its kind, but it does have something most others don't have — humour and gore. A lot of gore, actually. Plus, it luckily avoids being preachy.

The funny short film was directed by Fine Arts students from Beijing, who are well aware of the ridicule of the situation. It shows characters that are more focused on taking selfies than rescuing victims of a car crash. All at once, it’s sad, funny and accurate.
