“It's striking, but is it art?“ asks narrator Leo Fitzpatrick in Aaron Rose's latest short film project “The Bubble“ - one of two new creative works that explore the dynamic between New York City and Los Angeles.

The whole thing is commissioned by COS - but don't let that fool you. It's a visually striking, original and moody affair, which puts artworld heavyweights such as Tom Sachs or Jeffrey Deitch in front of the camera.

Somehow this even reminds me of Hal Hartley's early short films, which already dealt with a predominantly white/middle-class art world in Brooklyn some twentyfive years ago.
