Here's a short doc - brought to you by KQED Art School - that's basically chronicling the history of Bay Area graffiti.

Guided by local artist Neon, the whole thing is spiced up with lots of rarely-seen images of San Francisco/Bay Area graff from the 80s, which was captured by photographer Jim Prigoff, co-author of the seminal book on early graffiti “Spraycan Art“.
