Berlin Summer of 1945
the spirit after death and destruction
Konstantin von zur Mühlen delivers a selection of amazing archive footage of the completely destroyed city of Berlin - right after the end of WWII in summer '45.
The material was reassembled and edited at the CHRONOS-MEDIA GmbH, Potsdam. The material gives a never seen before insight of Germany’s capital and its inhabitants in the aftermath of WWII in exceptional quality, and luckily the footage is only available with its original sound.
You can see the Berlin Reichstag, Brandenburg Gate, Paris Plaza and Hotel Adlon, the Boulevard Unter den Linden, the Berlin Dome, the Nationalmonument of Wilhelm I. at the Berlin Castle (both have been dissambled by the GDR), Alexanderplatz, the Reichskanzlei and the Führerbunker, the Sportpalast where Göbbels doomed Germany with his infamous words - Wollt ihr den totalen Krieg?!
