American conceptual artist Chris Burden spent four years working on this kinetic sculpture titled “Metropolis II“, in which hundreds and hundreds of toy cars race through a labyrinth of 18 tracks in order to simulate the energy of the city. The installation is still on display at the Los Angeles Museum of Art.
