On 13 May 2017, CTM festival and the Red Bull Music Academy present composer and contemporary avant-garde icon Diamanda Galás at Funkhaus Berlin, her first Berlin appearance since 2006. This concert is part of the larger Red Bull Music Academy Bass Camp 2017 programme, which from 11 – 14 May assembles workshops, lectures and events with artists such as Le1f, Gareth Jones, Branko, Kahn & Need over its 4 days.

Decades of gutsy, blood-curdling performances as a pianist, vocalist, organist and performance artist have earned Galás her widespread reputation as a havoc-wreaking provocateur and musical gespenst. Over the course of her career, she has collaborated with many notable avant-garde composers and musicians, including Iannis Xenakis and John Zorn.
