RVCA presents the ENERGY THAT IS ALL AROUND Art Show in which 5 different artists expose more than 125 early and formative works. Barry McGee, Ruby Nery, Maragaret Kigallen, Chris Johanson and Alicia McCarty all started their careers in San Francisco’s Mission District in the early 1990s, and are now identified as key members of the Mission School. This exhibition shows how the district was 20 years ago, and how it was for artists to evolve through that period. Artist of this era were strongly influenced by Bay Area Figuration, the Beat movement, funk art and punk.

ENERGY THAT IS ALL AROUND takes place at the Grey Art Gallery, New York University, April 15- July 12, 2012.
