Fews

Means

Germany is used to making the best beer and probably the best Techno in the world, but today the Swedish/American quartet Fews has gained our attention and admiration for their Krautrock inspired album “Means”.

An international band with heavily diverse influences, they lived in Berlin and recorded the album in London, England. The album though has a slight German ring to it as it is filled with the ghosts of post punk, wave and Krautrock. The last track “Ill” is an eight minute pulse of hypnotic beats and adventurous rock and roll, typical of the style developed in 60s Germany that was the predecessor to Techno and so much electronic music in form, but not always in soundscape.

The two band founders David and Fred met ten years ago online as teenagers and bonded over music, they had the chance to meet in Sweden before they moved to Berlin together to explore their obsession. “Means” easily feels like the culmination of this friendship and passion for music.

The album will be released on May 20 via Play It Again Sam.
