goodnight brooklyn - the story of death by audio
Matthew Conboy's documentary about one of the most beloved venues for art and loud music Williamsburg had to offer just premiered at SXSW.
Conboy actually co-founded “Death By Audio“, which hosted its final show in November 2014 - so it's in the nature of things that “Goodnight Brooklyn - The Story of Death By Audio“ isn't the most objective doc out there. The film chronicles the discovery and rise of this underground institution, and how it all went down when Vice Media bought the building in a now hip neighbourhood to create new offices to feed their corporate dreams - which actually isn't only ironic but pretty sad keeping in mind that they were fueled by a similar DIY-punk rock spirit when they originally started.
