Independent Label Market

the berlin chapter, part 2

Conor Oberst once stated that he truly believes that vinyl will outlast CDs, and while this isn't a fact just yet, we're slowly but surely getting there.

On September 20th, Independent Label Market will open its doors at Berlin's Teppichfabrik, offering everything and beyond a true vinyl aficionado needs: exclusive releases, rarities and actual people to communicate and share the passion with. Check the flyer to the left for details.

“Following on from last years extremely successful Independent Label Market: Berlin, we are excited to be returning to Berlin for a much larger event at the Alte Teppichfabrik. Taking advantage of the building’s beautiful interior, Independent Label Market: Berlin will host label stalls, partner stalls and a selection of street food stalls across two floors, alongside a licensed bar and DJs playing throughout the day in the picturesque garden.

Since launching on Berwick St in May 2011, Independent Label Market has brought together the founders of over 180 of the world's greatest independent record labels on both sides of the Atlantic to sell their fresh vinyl produce directly to the public at that traditional goods exchange - a market stall. As the music industry embraces mp3s and a more digital strategy, Independent Label Market is proving to be a valuable reminder of how music retail can be a social affair; people hanging out together as a community and buying records.“
