JUNK YARD KIDS

BOSTON BONDS

Junk Yard Kids are pleased to present their debut exhibition featuring J.N.Esdaile (with Olivia Rose Turner), Daniel Joseph, and Shannon VanGyzen.

On view November through December at 254 Newbury Street in Boston, U S of  A  aka Trumpland

Junk Yard Kids takes a playful stab at combining and re-contextualizing American kitsch with supposed notions of higher art and culture. The results are a burst of collage, assemblage, sculptures, paintings, photography and found objects creating a common language from disparate views, weaving and flaring from artist to artist.

J.N. Esdaile and Olivia Rose Turner collaborate frequently and work in and around Boston. Both are recipients of the School of the Museum of Fine Arts Merit Award. J.N. was also commissioned work by President Barack Obama's White House Fellows.

Daniel Joseph is a multidisciplinary artist hailing from Brooklyn. His press includes the New Yorker, the New York Times as well as Vice. He holds the distinct honor of being the only visual artist to be sampled by a major hip-hop performer- Kendrick Lamar.

Shannon VanGyzen is a exciting new talent emerging from Boston academia. She is the recipient of the Dean's scholarship at SMFA and Departmental honors at MassArt. A first generation college graduate, her work deals with issues of identity and class.
