If you’re in need to define cosmopolitan, Alex from Tokyo would be somewhat of a perfect example. Born in Paris, raised in Tokyo, based in New York City, DJing around the globe with regular plays at Cielo, Le Bain, The Panther Room, Santos Party House, Nublu and with his 16 year old residency at Tokyo’s sunday afternoon party series „Gallery“, it couldn’t get more cosmopolitan, jetsetting and suave. Alongside with japanese mastering engineer Isao Kumaro he’s known for deep and futuristic releases on Dixon and Âme’s Innervisions label as Tokyo Black Star, but also for joining forces with Isao and japanese brand Phonon, seller of high end Hi-Fi components. Then there’s music consulting and production for Y-3, Louis Vuitton and Parkchoonmoo, compilations for Claremont 56, the relaunch of his record label World Famous later this year and, and, and… Sounds like there’s no time to chill for Alex? Well, we hope there is, but with more than a truckload full of things going on, we’re more than delighted that Alex found time to record a mix for us. Maybe it might have been helpful that Alex is a Lodown-fan since the nineties. Here’s his little insight on the mix:
