Monday Mixtape: James Dyer

Straight from the Rotary Tower

If you’re carrying a soft spot for the darker side of disco, then the name James Dyer certainly should ring a bell. He was one of the driving forces behind the always excellent DC Recordings - the original home of Padded Cell, Emperor Machine and Big Two Hundred, to name just a few - and got us all dancing like howling dervishes as one half of Stromba, the project he realized together with Tom Tyler (and the occasional help from bassist/guitarist James McKechan).

After a little hiatus, Dyer recently resurfaced with Rotary Tower, which is bridging the gap between a record label, publisher and production music library. Rotary Tower is covering a variety of styles and genres, mostly from the margins of the musical spectrum... so it doesn’t really surprise that his entry for our Monday Mixtape series definitely is one for the true music aficionados amongst us. Enjoy the ride.
