MONDAY MIXTAPE: kacper kapsa

piosenki from wosk

Kacper Kapsa, who started DJing in the early 2000s in small polish town Czestochowa and since then played all over Poland and Europe, might be known for the superb label The Very Polish Cut Outs that he started with Maciej Zambon some years ago. As the name implifies, they’re on the polish tip, finding, and editing hard to find lost gems from behind the iron curtain and polish talent. One of the first releases of their label was 7” including Kapsa’s edit of Czerwone Gitary. Kacper’s style is hard to categorise as his sets usually include polish stuff, disco, house, balearic, wave and beyond. He loves to spend money for vinyls and digging every possible record shop around the globe.

The mix he did for us was recorded in legendary polish club WOSK in Poznan. It’s 100% vinyl played on two turntables and Urei 1620LE mixer.

Kacper is now planning to start his own cassette label with some ambient stuff called Betonaric, its first cassette should be released this fall. Also in the near future his new edit will be released on vinyl, but we’re still waiting for details, so keep an eye open and keep connected via
