After having a couple of chats with Kirsty P it was clear she definetly doesn’t want to be labelled „a DJ as such…more a selector of music and records I am passionate about... I love my records and just want others to listen and appreciate them as much as I do.“ Well, listening to her mixes, her selections and mixing (well, don’t be shy here, Kirsty), seeing who’s mad about having her for a guest mix, stations from Shanghai to Albania, who’s willing to book her and seeing her ongoing strong list of more than 3k followers, I gotta ask: what is a DJ then? I’d say it’s somebody with a strong taste, a passion and a deep urge to spread the music, move people and having the ability to do so first hand. Sorry to tell you, Kirsty, but you are. She’s playing in Manchester, London, Amsterdam and Italy, having her sporadic radio show on Deepvibes, delivering guest mixes for Millionhands, Acid Pony Club, Balearic Social and a dozen others. Her taste is widespread and eclectic, she’s been buying records since the early 80s and besides all that, no, sorry, first hand, she’s a mother to her lovely 10 year old daughter.
