On June 4th, Oakley held an exclusive event and celebrated the opening of Oakley in Residence: London - a pop-up cycling workshop and hangout for the bicycle afficado at Exmouth Market. A hub for the growing scene of bicycle fans and the die hard messenger crowd - providing space to relax - have a coffee while getting you bike fixed or leave some dead freight in the provided locker room in the basement is something that could be appreciated by the messengers.

Benji B of Radio 1 and Nic Tasker from the NTS Radio Crew entertained guests with a special DJ set throughout the night and enjoyed surprise BMX performances by Joe Seddon and Lee Musselwhite from Andrei Burton’s BMX Collective. BBC Sports Commentator, Tim Warwood, hosted a variety of bike-related challenges organized by Oakley in Residence: London partner, London Bike Kitchen. Notable attendees included professional cyclists Chas Christiansen, Scott Mitchell and Jonas Stromberg, along with celebrity guests Labrinth, Laura Whitmore, Zara Martin, Jeremy Irvine and more. The following day we (the presscrowd) could experience the London traffic by ourself, guided by a flock of trackbike angels of London Fixed we were channeled through the narrow streets of London, which was quite a thrill - and luckily none got lost or got scrapped.

Part creative space, part workshop, Oakley in Residence: London is free and open to the public. Located at 37- 39 Exmouth Market, London, EC1R 4QP, the venue is open every week from Wednesday to Sunday through August, and offers a schedule of workshops, exclusive exhibitions, film screenings, athlete meet ups and cycling adventures.

On display at the space through July 1st is a little exhibtion exhibition that honors the history of the European Cycle Messenger Championships – an annual event where cycle messengers gather, compete and celebrate urban cycling.

Oakley opened its first Oakley in Residence last month in Los Angeles celebrating skate culture. Join the global conversation at #LiveYours, #InResidence.
