OX
by Open Walls
The French artist OX laid down his hat in Berlin for a solo exhibition with Open Walls Gallery at Stattbad, the former public swimming pool transformed in a cultural location. It's the perfect location for the artist who likes atypical and original places. OX has nothing left to prove, he is one of the pioneers of what we call today ‘street art’, especially by using advertising billboards as his canvas, OX uses these in order to change their original purpose into his own idiosyncratic meaning, reinventing urban spaces with geometric and abstracts compositions which he undermines a world sometimes too full of images. Yet, this poetry last just for a moment since it belongs to the street or is applied illegally. As a revival of his artworks, OX will release his first monograph ‘AFFICHAGE LIBRE / PLAKATKUNST / PUBLIC POSTERS’ on the occasion of the vernissage at Stattbad presented by Open Walls. This book is a collection of his best work from the years 2000 to 2014.
The show will gather a collection of classic and recent works. The artist will be present to the vernissage held on Saturday February 14th from 19:00 onwards.
