PAUL RIPKE X NIK AINLEY

Surf in the City: a futuristic fantasy

Every second month, Fotolia brings together two internationally acclaimed artists to collaborate on a joint piece of art. This month, TEN – the education digital art initiative that was created in 2011 by Fotolia - brings together Paul Ripke and Nik Ainley. German professional photographer and British digital illustrator teamed up in order to reveal their collaboration: “ Surf in the City: a futuristic fantasy”.

On July 10th (today guys!), you will be able to download the PSD file of “Surf in the city”, complete with layers, filters, camera settings, and other materials used to create the piece for free on www.tenbyfotolia.com. Hurry up though - you only have 24 hours!

After this, on July 11th people from all around the world will be welcome to challenge the two artists in their respective art forms.  All you have to do is to download the PSD file on the website, and then create your own interpretation of Nik Ainley’s creation. Photographers can also submit their best shot using Paul Ripke’s technique, which is shared in the making-of video.

Winners will receive great prizes such as Wacom tablets, Adobe Creative Cloud suites, Roland Versa Studio BN-20 printers, or various multi-media prints by Exaprint.
