Raymond Pettibon

for Supreme

The American artist Raymond Pettibon (*1957 in Tucson, Arizona) derived from the californian punk scene of the late 70´s. His brother Greg Ginn is cofounder of Black Flag and the record label SST. Pettibon designed the notorious Black Flag "four bars" logo  as well as record sleeves and concert flyers for bands on his brother´s label.

Beginning in the 1990s, his career in the contemporary art scene developed detached from the music scene. His drawings are often tragicomical, furnished with articulate phrases or borrowed passages from literature that are socio-critical and politically charged. A lot of times his protagonists appear to be uneasy and tense.

Supreme will be releasing a small collection of items including two Skateboard decks, featuring the artwork of Raymond Pettibon.

Available in-store in New York, Los Angeles, London and online September 18th. Japan will see the release on September 20th.
