Born and raised in Basel, the photographer Tobias Madörin is now based Zürich. His last exhibition, "Topos" is a result of 20 years of traveling. After capturing different parts of the world such as Europe, South and North America, Asia and Africa, Madörin explores through his pictures the relationship between inhabitants and their environment. His large-scale images show the affects of the human existence on nature as it examines contemporary global prospects.

He has exhibited in the past at the Galerie Stihl Waiblingen, the Museo Cantonale d’Arte Lugano (2013), the Galerie A.C. Kupper Modern, Zurich (2012), the exhibition space 25, Zurich and Kunsthaus Zürich (2006), the Museum im Bellpark Kriens and the Swiss Pavilion at the Expo 2005 World’s Fair, Aichi, and the Museum of Architecture, Moscow (2002).

Tobias Madörin has also published the illustrated volumes Berlin - City in Space (Vice Versa Verlag, 2004), Gleichgesinnt. Der Verein – ein Zukunftsmodell (Kontrast Verlag, 2003), and Barcelona – City in Space (Neuer Kunst und Medienverlag, Zurich, 2001).
