ART IN EASTERN EUROPE AND LATIN AMERICA

This exhibition focuses on the parallels and connections among international artists working in Latin America and Eastern Europe during the 60s and 70s. Featuring roughly 300 works from the Museum’s collection that explore the radical experimentation, expansion, and dissemination of ideas that marked the cultural production of these decades and challenged established art-historical narratives in the West.

Half of the works are on view for the first time, including works by Geta Brătescu, Tomislav Gotovac, Jiří Kovanda, Lea Lublin, George Maciunas, Marta Minujín, Ewa Partum, Liliana Porter, and Josip Vaništa.
