asics tiger

evo / injection pack

Evo is for evolution and especially the Japanese like to play with this abbreviation. So does the ASICS company bridging the gap between Japanese sports technology and global street style of the modern day sneaker bizness. The release of GEL-KAYANO TRAINER EVO and still to come GEL-LYTE EVO is par excellence the latest outcome of Asics Tiger’s evolution.

The original GEL-KAYANO TRAINER, created by longtime ASICS designer Toshikazu Kayano, entered the stage as a flagship shoe for “the serious high-mileage runner.” Utilising the technology available in 1993 and the original design has maintained in lifestyle, and became a sneaker icon. The GEL-LYTE III, created by Shigeyuki Mitsui in 1990, broke the mold of conventional shoe design. At a time when high performance shoes lacked style, Mitsui-san wanted to create “the ultimate performance running shoe with the highest level of technology and function,” but one that was “visually pleasing unlike existing shoes at the time.” To celebrate their ongoing transformations, ASICS Tiger recently launched the GEL-KAYANO TRAINER EVO and will follow-up by the GEL-LYTE EVO in August. Both silhouettes still retain their trademark features such as the split tongue and the unique mono sock but have the upgrade in design and technology such as visible gel technology, Solyte, fluid ride, four-part tooling, TPU upper and a mesh bonded treatment. Decide if you stay oldskool or be part of the evolution.

Asics Tiger is adding two new kicks to the family of the GEL-KAYANO TRAINER EVO. One with a black upper and a white sole, the other one is perfectly white as long as you keep him clean. In germany, the Injection Pack is released on the 24th of July.
