The Canadian god musician Chilly Gonzales doesn’t stop to impress, after a collaboration with the grammy awards winners Daft Punk for the album “Random access memories” as well as Drake, he is coming back with a more relaxed and classical output with his new album simply called 'Chambers'.
Chilly Gonzales never takes the normal pathway with the classical music’s conventions. Whether it is playing on stage dressed up in bathrobe or playing like a 4 years old kid for a piano battle with Jean-François Zygel. He started the piano at the age of 3, after a classical training, he became a jazz virtuoso to then be embarked on a pop career as the leader of the alternative rock band “Son”. Carried away by his thirst for novelty, he collaborated with many different artists as a producer and songwriters, such as Jane Birkin, Feist or Boys Noize.
As a passionate hard-worker, Chilly is as well giving master class by using musical theory concepts from his “Re-Introduction Etudes” book to analyze today’s pop music hits in a video series -available online- recorded with radio station WDR 1Live.
“Chambers” will remind to every fan the “Solo Piano” albums, entirely made up of instrumental material, this time it’s a contemporary approach to chamber music.
Chambers doesn't have a set release date just yet, but the album can be previewed with a brief trailer. As for his upcoming tour dates in Europe, hurry up to get a ticket!
