kurt cobain
Posthumous album
A few weeks ago we talked about the latest documentary on Kurt Cobain titled “Montage of Heck”, the only one approved by the Cobain family. The documentary’s director, Brett Morgen, just announced that the cassette tapes, home recordings, and other archival material will come together and will be released as a new Kurt Cobain album some time this summer.
Do not expect a Nirvana album though, it will be a very intimate record where Cobain is singing for himself or friends. Posthumous releases are always a bit tricky... if Cobain was still alive today, would he ever sign off on a release of rough demos and covers?
Cobain's acoustic cover of the Beatles classic "And I Love Her" recently made its way around the web, and should be an indication of what's to come on the new record.
