MONDAY MIXTAPE: STEFAN MARX
MUSIC FOR AIRPORTS
Lousy Livin. Cleptomanicx. Smallville Records. And then some more. Hamburg based artist Stefan Marx doesn’t need an introduction on these pages, really, as his unique artwork is accompanying Lodown since many years already. Times sure are busy for him these days: he just collaborated with NYC’s 5Boro crew for the “5B Airline Series“, which consists of six different boards - a project that certainly feeds Stefan’s ongoing fascination with modern day jets -, and he currently has a celebrated solo show titled “In Dreams“ (which has new works on display until March 15) at Cologne’s Ruttkowski;68 gallery as well.
He somehow found the time to squeeze a mixtape for our weekly series into his bursting schedule - and if you think that his selection reflects on state of the art dancefloor shenanigans, just because his visual contribution for Smallville might suggest so, you’ll probably find yourself surprised (as in “impressed“) by his self-assured picks full of indie glory. Just make sure you won’t miss your connecting flight while losing yourself in his “Music For Airports“ mix.
