Max (Ripo) Rippon was born and raised in NYC and currently resides in Barcelona, Spain. Coming from a Graffiti background, his work is primarily text-based, exploring and communicating through typography and calligraphy. His rhetoric often proposes questions rather than answers, always with a sense of sarcasm and humor crawling below the surface.
RIPO transforms hand painted lettering into wood sculptures and collages on canvas through an elaborate production process including calligraphy, 3D-modeling, digital fabrication and traditional wood finishing techniques.
“W.O.W. (What Once Was)“ presents Max Rippon’s latest works at the ARTY FARTY Gallery, Cologne.
Opening: February 22, 7pm
Finissage: March 22, 7pm
During the exhibition’s opening visitors can expect an incendiary performance.
