AC/DC FAQ

by Susan Masino

AC/DC are truly back in business. After last year’s chart-topping release of their fifteenth studio album ‘Rock Or Bust’, the band is currently ripping through Germany and then the rest of the world on their sell-out stadium world tour. And just in time for the latest AC/DC mega-hype, US rock journalist and author Susan Marino has published ‘AC/DC FAQ – All That’s Left To Know About The World’s True Rock’ Roll Band’.

This new book about one of the most legendary rock bands of all time really is an entertaining and fascinating read – not just for die-hard AC/DC fans, but for anyone, who wants to really know what’s been going on in the lives and careers of these rock giants. Featuring 37 chapters ‘AC/DC FAQ’ chronicles the 40-year journey, starting from the bands formation in 1973 and covering everything from their earliest hedonistic days in Australia and their first tours of England and the United States to their world-conquering early albums ‘High Voltage’ and ‘TNT’, the comeback with ‘Back In Black’ after the tragic loss of singer Bon Scott in 1980 and the triumph of the Black Ice tour that became the second-highest grossing tour in history. It also includes personal experiences, stories, conversations and interviews by Marino, who has known the band since 1977. And it’s these behind-the scenes stories like the one about Angus’s schoolboy uniform and or how Angus and Malcom’s sister Margaret Young came up with the name AC/DC that really make this book a stand-out read.

This really is a complete and in-depth AC/DC read that covers the band’s entire legacy and really captures the essence of one of the most successful rock bands ever. Or as Red Hot Chilli Pepeprs drummer Chad Smith perfectly sums it up in his foreword: “I prefer my rock bands to be the dangerous type. The music that thrills me – the type that keeps my attention and makes me feel the most alive – is the kind that teeters on insanity. The bands that play their guts out every time…those are the bands that inspire me top play, and that is why I fucking love AC/DC.”
