The newly opened Student Hotel Dresden announces speaker line-up for BedTalks festival

The 7th edition of the festival, takes place at The Student Hotel at 13 Prager Strasse on:

Friday 12 April 2019 with a programme packed with exceptional speakers, interactive workshops and music performances from local and national artists, entrepreneurs and game-changers. The event is open to everyone, free of charge and, like The Student Hotel itself, a modern and inclusive addition to Dresden.

The speaker line-up for BedTalks will include Jan Blüher, the inspirational founder of visorApps; a startup that develops software and apps to simplify the lives of blind and visually impaired people, motivated by his own need to find unconventional ways of working throughout his own life as a result of his blindness. Also changing lives for the better is Fanny Schiel, host and network developer at Marktschwärmer where she connects local producers with consumers, and founder of a co-housing project in Dresden.

They will join Prof. Dr Ralph Sonntag, professor of marketing at HTW Dresden and leader of “Gründerschmiede”, happiness researcher Saskia Rudolph, CEO of Spiegelneuronen, and Andreas Schanzenbach, chief innovation officer of CROMATICS who promises to share the latest trends, co-creations and other secrets.

The first BedTalks in Germany will focus on Traditionalism vs Progressivism. Tommy Halfter, Connector at TSH Dresden and curator of the event said: “On one hand, Dresden holds a broad base of long-existing and traditional companies. On the other hand, there is a new pursuit rising to discover the world with innovative products made in Silicon Saxony, which divides the economy into Futurism and Traditionalism as well as influencing different ways of working, company structures and work-life balances.

Hundreds of people are expected to attend the free-thinking festival from The Student Hotel group and hear more than 50 speakers from the worlds of technology, communications, health, blockchain, social good, education and more.

Workshops
As well as the talks themselves, BedTalks will feature a series of workshops including sessions on Mindfulness with Daniel Einenkel, a co-creation workshop with kultura.digital and Plasma Magazine and a mobility and functional movement session with Tim Böttner.

Phoenix Coffee Roasters will run coffee tasting, for tea lovers there are workshops from Teerausch, as well as an installation from Movement on the Ground and artwork from Favela Painting.

The festival welcomes everyone to experience DJs and live music, workshops, talks and food and drink from the on-site espresso bar and cafe, Common Grounds. Tours of the hotel run throughout the today.
