In The Earth

abject terror

Forget about the bloddy awful “Rebecca“, British director Ben Wheatley underlines his status as a visionary, exceptional talent with his latest genre-bender “In The Earth“.

Wheatley sure is no stranger to folk-inspired, psychedelic horror but this time around it seems as if he's pinning his new tale of terror against the omnipresent Covid-19 backdrop.

A theatrical release date is aimed at June 18. Here's the official synopsis for you: “As the world searches for a cure to a disastrous virus, a scientist and park scout venture deep in the forest for a routine equipment run. Through the night, their journey becomes a terrifying voyage through the heart of darkness, the forest coming to life around them.“
