Fassbinder – NOW

exhibition

Fassbinder – NOW provides new impetus for addressing one of Germany’s most important film directors. Organized by the Deutsches Filmmuseum, the exhibition will be on view from May 6 – August 23, 2015 at Martin-Gropius-Bau in Berlin.

This show coincides with what would have been Rainer Werner Fassbinder’s seventieth birthday on May 31. The presentation clearly demonstrates the tightly interconnected nature of Fassbinder’s work in film both thematically and aesthetically and how it builds on itself. Fassbinder – NOW also shows how the director influenced contemporary art production.

Accordingly, the exhibition takes a two-tiered approach, presenting both historical and present-day viewpoints.
