A Good Year

Astrid Sonne. Snuggle. Fine. Elias Rønnenfelt. And then some more. If there’s a record label that caused a considerable shake-up within the indie landscape lately, then it certainly is Copenhagen-based Escho. And this March, one of their best-kept secrets, going by the name of A Good Year, will finally make its long-overdue Berlin debut.
The Copenhagen-based duo is formed by Albert Hildebrand and Tobias Laust, reshaping together the edges of Denmark’s alternative scene with their blend of cinematic textures and understated pop. Their sound drifts somewhere between ambient pop, cinematic electronica, and textured songwriting – music that feels as visual as it does melodic with resonating wooden guitars dwell alongside a soft queen voice, paced by rimshots and hi-hats.
Especially their breakout collaboration ‘YSL’ with Horse Vision (more than 200,000 streams on Spotify) marks the beginning of a warmer, more immediate chapter that’s still rooted in their characteristic sense of atmosphere.
Their Berlin debut also marks the start of a new event series titled Yetze Casino Nights that will take over legendary Ballhaus Ost once a month. Be prepared for your new favorite melodic mind games and musical mayhem. Not to be missed!
