Klaus Jörres

Dittrich & Schlechtriem

Dittrich & Schlechtriem just announced a new opening solo show with headlining artist Klaus Jörres. The exhibition will present six black & white minimalistic paintings. As usual, the eye is disrupted, confronted to the geometrical shapes in monochrome. Klaus Jörres likes to break the perfect grids with unperfected curves.

Like Kito Nedo reminds in his essay “Less narrative, more protocol”, viewers who have been partying a lot in the 90’s might find an association with the Techno culture such as pulsating visuals or fast music beats. Yet, for Jörres black is quite while the white provides light. His paintings, in their purity of form and rigorous design, are changing the classical mode of abstraction.

There are no rules in composition, it’s about the experiment”, Jörres.

Opening exhibition: Friday May 1st at 5 pm.

Solo show:  May 1st - June 20th.
