Realize that there is no “Art World” but that there are “Art Worlds” – Mark Mulroney

 Mark Mulroney belongs to these rare group of artists that simply don’t give a damn - neither about other opinions than their own nor the art/gallery circuit. Mark Mulroney’s visual and sculptural works are funny, original and very well-thought out. His drawings usually depict the body in all its gross excess: engorged genitalia, numerous oozing bodily fluids, and characters in between ecstatic and sadistic states. His work though is not only explicitly sexual and trashy, it can be colourful and really decorative as well - such as the murals he made in public spaces. 

Mulroney is able to basically work with every kind of medium and topic, from miniature nude women or a child’s bedroom mural to redesigning album covers. In this video he’s giving us a piece of his mind about what is a good or bad record cover, and how the visual side is actually as important as the content.
