Micaela Lattanzio is exploring the fragmentation of identity through her series, “Frammentazioni”. Both a photographer and an artist, Micaela takes portraits of her subjects and then systematically cuts and rips them up into abstract shapes.
She then painstakingly pins the fragments together onto a new canvas, recreating a fragmented, alternate reality, where form and movement are subtlely informed by several different perspectives.
Some of Lattanzio’s works use the various pieces of her photographs as pixels, rearranging them around each other but maintaining some semblance of the original shape. Check out some examples of her stunning work to the left.
