Mollu Heino
SYVÄ (Deep) - Landscape paintings
Mollu Heino’s near-monochromatic oil and pigment paintings are created as one-off rugged landscapes of the soul: islands, reflections on water, the dark edge of a forest and the far-reaching sky. For the most part dark and misty, the light glistening like patches reflected on water. The depth of the paintings is sinking, diving into the landscape, dipping into one’s own thoughts, before the dark surfaces lying ahead.
The collection now on show in Galerie Pleiku is from the years 2013-2014. The paintings are displayed making use of the entire wall, from floor to ceiling.
Artist Mollu Heino was born in 1967 and lives and works in Luvia, Finland. She has studied at the Finnish Academy of Fine Arts and at the University of Art and Design Helsinki.
