MONDAY MIXTAPE: THE KRAUT SERIES
Munk "Teutonic Lodown"
Some weeks ago we started to re-up our long lost archive of mixes with our Kraut Series, in which we asked some friends that share the same taste for mixing up the good, the weird, the rare of that era.
This week’s follow up was mixed by our buddy Mathias „Munk“ Modica of Gomma fame, not only responsible for a superb jazz mix he did for us last year, but also for a truckload of great dance tracks you most likely were dancing to over the last ten to fifteen years. His last album „Chanson 3000“ is still rocking car stereos and saturday night warm up parties as well as summer BBQs and fashion shows.
His mix surely is probably not what the die-hard krautrockers might expect. It’s more like the post-kraut version when artists began to move on with a fuse of disco and wave, somewhere in the neighborhood of Neue Deutsche Welle. There’s no playlist to this mix, but you’ll find a lot of these rarities on Gomma’s great Teutonic Disaster 01 and 02. Check his latest video Cartoon and make sure to catch up with his projects and gigs via his facebook page.
