Hate Mail - the definitive collection

Emails became the most common tool to communicate, and obviously it's a very useful one. Although, letters had this kind of freedom, which allows you to be more romantic and imaginative on paper, while emails provide only some emoticons, smileys and attachments. Let just say it's different possibilities.

These days letters turned more into postcards to send to your grandparents when you are on holidays, writing about the weather and landscapes but not talking about your realities and what you are really doing.

British artist Mr Bingo started to create “real” postcards in a series simply entitled “Hate Mail”, for which he sent rather rude - and downright hilarious - messages to complete strangers, telling them that they are stupid, that they will never succeed or that they look like Gaddafi.

After having published and exhibited a few of these in the past already, he now wants to turn almost thousand postcards into a glossy photo-book entitled, ‘Hate Mail: The Definitive Collection’. He even created a rap video on his Kickstarter to get some support to print the collection of postcards; anyone who gives some cash gets rewarded with a personalised insult and even has the chance to win a drunken train journey in the company of Mr Bingo.

"Sometimes I do get feedback from recipients. The best thing I got sent was a chocolate swiss roll which had 'fucker' written on it in icing. I didn’t eat it. I just took some pictures of it on a vintage plate."
