CONTREPOINT

In the electronic music industry the French duo Jean-Benoit Dunckel and Nicolas Godin from AIR is still a reference even if their latest album, ‘Le Voyage dans la Lune’, an alternative score to a 1902 silent science-fiction film, was out in 2012.

Although the two artists are not out of work since they just released an amazing boxset to celebrate the fifteenth anniversary of their soundtrack for Sofia Coppola’s “The Virgin Suicides” which includes some never-before heard versions of the classic 'Playground Love' and an excellent live recorded in Los Angeles in January 2000. As well, last year they released a series of ambient recordings with the album 'Music for Museum'.

However, they are now both working on solo projects and Nicolas Godin will release his debut LP in September and has already presented a first symphonic extract with “Orca” last June.

Most of all, few days ago he presented a new track in German in a video clip directed by The Sacred Egg, “Widerstehe Doch Der Sünde” (Resist but sin), where the film is full of zombies surfers, which appears to have a normal human life in black & white.

Godin's album CONTREPOINT will be out on September 18 via Because Music.
