nymphs 2

Nicolas Jaar's 'Nymphs II“ is out today via his Other People imprint. There’s not too much information about it, only that it was recorded in New York City between 2011 and 2015, and the whole thing is now streaming.

Again, Jaar does not disappoint, deep house vibes and an otherworldly vibe are taking you to another stratosphere. The beginning of the first track could even be an allegory to one of Ulysses’ myth, the one where he is attached to the mainmast so that he has to listen to the magical mermaids.

“Nymphs II“ is Jaar's first solo 12" since 2011s 'Space is only Noise', but in the meantime he sure wasn't taking it easy. He has started—and finished—his 'Darkside' project with Dave Harrington on guitar, wound up his 'Clown And Sunset' outlet and launched Other People, which has maintained a busy release schedule for the past couple of years. In February he also released an alternative score for 'The Color Of Pomegranates', a 1969 film by Sergei Parajanov.
