Drowned in Water and Light

The young artist from Bristol, Sebastian Gainsborough, as a pseudonym Vessel, has just released a video for his song "Drowned in Water and Light" from the album “Punish, Honey”.

The clip was directed by Pedro Maia, the Portuguese filmmaker who collaborated with several musicians (Panda Bear, Lee Ranaldo, etc) and who performed in venues like Berghain, Serralves Contemporary Art Museum, Sónar Festival, etc.

The video is in black&white, with a double exposure, on one hand the sexual imagery of a woman and on the other hand kind of a creepy hearth beating like in an old movie.

Vessel is playing the latest round of Pitchfork’s Tinnitus concert series tonight at The Wick in Brooklyn, NYC.
