Sotheby's Paris just announced its second sale of Haute Couture, presented in association with Kerry Taylor Auctions. 140 Little Black Dresses, or Petites robes noires, from the private collection of Didier Ludot. Ludot, better known in Paris as the 'fashion antiquarian', is a household name to fashion lovers from all over the world. Alongside his mythic boutique in the Palais Royal, Ludot has built up a private collection of rare and important pieces by the greatest of designers, over a period of almost forty years.
This exceptional auction will include selections from Ludot's collection of Little Black Dresses, with creations by legendary couturiers such as Cristóbal Balenciaga, Pierre Balmain, Coco Chanel, Christian Dior, Yves Saint Laurent, Jean Patou, Marc Vaughan and Yohji Yamamoto.
